Roofing RAMS writing service

Roofing risk assessments.
Clear method statements.

RAMS for the roofing work you’re actually carrying out - not a blank template to fill in yourself. RoofIQ turns your project information into a risk assessment and method statement, written by a roofing professional and delivered by email.

What are roofing RAMS?

RAMS combines a risk assessment with a method statement. The risk assessment considers the hazards associated with the planned work, who could be affected and the control measures. The method statement explains the sequence of work, access arrangements, equipment and precautions.

For a roofing project, those details depend on the site and scope: the roof condition, materials, working height, access, fall protection, occupied areas and other activities taking place. A document for a small roof repair should not simply repeat the arrangements for a full roof replacement.

All roofing systems. UK-wide remote service.

RoofIQ prepares RAMS for roofing businesses across the UK, covering all roofing systems - from metal sheeting and cladding to single-ply, felt, liquid-applied roofing and pitched tiles or slates. Each request is reviewed for its specific scope, rather than relying on the system name alone.

Your documents are prepared by Jamie, with 20 years in roofing and approximately 13 years preparing RAMS. His background includes installation, site supervision, estimating and contract management.

Roofing method statements for the work you’re actually doing

A useful method statement should describe the planned sequence and precautions for the particular job. RoofIQ prepares the document around your roofing system, the site and the work involved, including:

  • Flat roofing: deck preparation, insulation, membranes, outlets, upstands and any relevant adhesives or hot works.
  • Pitched roofing: strip-off or repair work, underlay, battens, tiles or slates, ridges, valleys and leadwork.
  • Metal roofing and cladding: sheet or panel handling, lifting, fixing sequence, laps, flashings and weather conditions.
  • Roof repairs and maintenance: access, occupied areas, rooflights or fragile surfaces, exclusion zones and short-duration work.

The document also records the access, fall protection, equipment, supervision and emergency arrangements you confirm. RoofIQ does not invent site arrangements. If a key detail is missing or unclear, we ask for it before completing the RAMS.

What’s included in your RoofIQ document?

  • Project, client and site details, together with the planned roofing scope.
  • A method statement describing the sequence of the proposed work.
  • Roofing-relevant hazards, risk ratings and control measures based on the information supplied.
  • Access and fall-protection arrangements, supervision and responsibilities.
  • Relevant equipment, materials, PPE and emergency arrangements.
  • Unlimited revisions while the project and scope remain the same.

The content is adapted to the job. Where important information is missing, RoofIQ follows up rather than treating an assumption as a confirmed site arrangement.

Tell us the facts. We write the RAMS.

Start with the site address, client, description of the work, roofing system, planned dates, team and supervisor. Tell us how the work area will be accessed and what fall protection is arranged. Supporting drawings, specifications, photos and site rules help us understand the project.

You don’t need to write formal safety wording or calculate risk scores. You do need to supply accurate project information and identify the arrangements your business intends to put in place.

Our RAMS request form prepares an email in your email app. Attach your supporting files and send it to RoofIQ. Nothing is submitted automatically, and there is no customer portal to set up.

One-off roofing RAMS or regular monthly support

A one-off RAMS costs £149, with no subscription required. For regular work, Professional is £279 per month for up to three RAMS, and Contractor is £499 per month for up to six. Additional RAMS for subscribers cost £99. No VAT is currently charged.

Revisions cover the same project and scope. A different site or materially different work may require a new RAMS. Monthly allowances reset each month and do not roll over.

How quickly can you receive your RAMS?

Once all required information is received, the standard turnaround is three working days for one-off requests and two for Professional. Contractor requests qualify for next-working-day delivery when complete information arrives before 12 noon UK time on a working day. Requests completed at or after noon, or on a non-working day, enter the next working day’s delivery cycle.

Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays. Complex projects may need more time; we discuss that when reviewing your request and agree a delivery date before preparing the document.

Need it sooner? Contact us before ordering. Urgent work depends on availability and may incur an extra charge, agreed with you before proceeding.

Project-specific writing, not a promise of site approval

RoofIQ prepares the document from the project information you provide. Your business remains responsible for checking it against the actual site, workforce, equipment and current conditions before use, and for implementing the agreed arrangements.

Client or principal-contractor requirements may mean revisions are needed. RoofIQ does not guarantee acceptance, carry out a site inspection as part of this writing service, or replace specialist surveys and plans where those are required.
